ABOUT THE BOOK

“Enjoy your meal!” These are the words with which Pope Francis greets the worshippers in his speeches. Few knows the deeper meaning: before becoming Pope, he graduated in Food Chemistry and inherited the passion for food from his mother, grandmother and relatives who owned a restaurant in Piedmont, Italy.
You’ll discover the milestones of the Pope’s life and the dishes related to this main events: you can replicate them at home following the original recipes in the book. A volume that gives a new perspective on the beloved, charismatic figure of Pope Francis, recounted by the Pope’s biographer, Roberto Alborghetti.

The book is already available in different Languages: Italian, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Polish…

A video to celebrate the World Water Day 2018.  The pictures of the video are not paintings or digitally made compositions, but abstract and macro photos that I took for my project-research “Lacer/actions” around an old boat in Torre del Mare (Apulia, Italy).

WONDERFUL NIGHT IN BEESTON NOTTINGHAM (UK) FOR THE PREMIÈRE OF “LAND ROVER MAPPING” SHORT FILM

Rust and Dust: The Secret Life of a Land Rover

A little bit of Italy came to Beeston tonight in the form of author and artist Roberto Alborghetti, who was in town for the world premiere of his latest mini movie called ‘Land Rover Mapping’. And like his last film ‘The Ghost Bus’, it features one of Barton’s vintage vehicles.

It was screened at the Chilwell Arts Centre, in front of an appreciative audience, including the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Mayor of Broxtowe and the Bishop of Nottingham. Also in attendance was celebrity butcher Johnny Pusztai, and several members of the Barton family. The event had been organised by Marysia Zipser of Beeston’s ACT (Art, Culture, Tourism) organisation.

Six short films were screened altogether, including the original Ghost Bus film, which had also received its world premiere in Beeston during February 2015 at the former Barton’s bus depot. This event also included seeing the actual bus itself, which had been illuminated in a spooky fashion to extol its ghostlike appearance, as it had lain rotting away in a farmer’s field in Suffolk for some 20+ years.

‘Land Rover Mapping’ is a 14-minute film, which continues the theme of macro photography; showing up the rust, scratches and imperfections of the vehicle that was built in 1955 and has been owned by the Barton family for at least forty years.

Roberto is just on a flying visit to Beeston, as he returns to Italy on Saturday, to continue with the launch of his latest book about Pope Francis.

WELCOME TO NOTTINGHAM (UK) FOR A NEW AND EPIC VOYAGE IN THE LAND OF ROBIN HOOD!

Nottingham Post March 9, 18

The Ghost Bus is on the road again in the Land of Robin Hood! Journalist Christopher Frost wrote this article on “The Beestonian” magazine: “Film is on the agenda at Chilwell Arts Theatre, when Italian artist and journalist Roberto Alborghetti unveils his latest film ‘Land Rover Mapping’, which is based around an old Land Rover that is stored at the former Barton’s bus depot. Roberto is no stranger to Beeston, as in March 2015 the ‘Ghost Bus’ experience was launched through Marysia Zipser’s ACT (Art, Culture, Tourism) organisation. This featured close up photographs of an old rusty and dilapidated Bartons bus from the 1950s, which had been dragged out of a field, where it had lain for many years. The Ghost Bus theme has since taken on a life of itself, having been turned into a dress by designer Yarden Mitrani and launched in Piancastagnaio in Tuscany in October 2015. Marysia has recently been busy inviting artists and photographers to Beeston to enjoy a cultural experience. Digital artist Joe Ganech makes a welcome return from his home in Brussels… Dublin based photographer Theresa Moynes will be appearing again, and flying in from Tennessee is graphic artist Kimberley Pelkey, who specialises in creating colourful animals. Local artists will also be featured at Marysia’s studio at the Hive on Union Street, with a photo exhibition that has an Italian flavour, to tie in with Roberto’s visit and other artwork by local artists… If you fancy coming to the screening of the Land Rover film, then tickets cost £5 and are available on the door”.
