TEN YEARS AGO (2010), “THE 4 ELEMENTS”: MY MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY WENT ON SHOW

Ten years ago, exactly in these days – July 16, 17 and 18, 2010 – my macro photographs went on show in the suggestive and futuristic setting of Oriocenter, one of the largest and most visited shopping centers in Italy. An incredible place: my artworks were placed against the background of the airport and the profile of one of the most beautiful Italian cities, the Upper Town of Bergamo.

Thirty thousand people visited my solo show at Oriocenter (Milano Bergamo Orio Airport). It was a great success and a special occasion to admire and to meet my research years about macro photography on torn and decompoed publicity posters, natural cracks and scratches, corrosions of industrial and urban materials. During the special event at Oriocenter, I presented 40 artworks (litographies) dedicated to “Four Elements”: water, air, earth and fire”. The claim of exhibition was: “We may see things that we don’t even imagine” .

Meeting people and journalists had the way to know more about my  multidisciplinary project named “laceR/Actions”. For instance, at that time, my artworks pics were taking part of experiences about sensorial and emotional perception (sinestesys) concerning kinesiologic tests.  As reviewers wrote “Alborghetti’s artworks gather and mixes up – in a provocative way – different languages, from street art to video art, passing through music, photography, performances, graphic a.s.o.” The exhibition at Oriocenter was curated by  arch. Giampaolo Biffi; collaborators: Aldo Mapelli (painter) and Alessandro Colombo Building Company. The three days exhibition received a huge attention by medias;  articles and stories were published by newspapers and magazines. Tv Channels  interviewed me showing some of my “laceR/Actions” artworks.

I’d like to report, about the show, what said, by journalist, author and artist Mina Cappussi. She wrote: “Roberto Alborghetti choose to silence words and to let the images tell. LaceR/Actions are really unusual images, so far away from common visions. They are not manipulated images, they are natural images. Alborghetti “spies” advertisings, and all what is ripped, sticked and lacerated paper, mixin’up styles, colors, explicit or subliminal messages. Alborghetti proceeds his research in an ingenious way, re-reading  images and messages in the light of superimposition, like a photoshot with a long time exposure, lettin’ flow emotions, sensations, events that contaminate the original scene. And so, the contamination becomes art, and we have the way to discover new points of view and observation, settin’ free one mind of prejudices and conventional thoughts”.

Ten years ago, in 2010,

WE WILL LISTEN (AND SEE) THE … “RAINBOWS”. FROM JULY 25, 2020

MACRO PHOTO #30 / HERE IS THE LAST CARD: CRACKS (AS MAPS) ON THE GHOST BUS

CARD # 4

“I see with an eye that feels, I feel with a hand that sees” (J. W. Von Goethe).

A few years ago, the images of my artistic project “Lacer/actions” were used to offer groups of people a sort of psychological game, in order to provoke thoughts, comments, emotions, moods. I must say that, from what I was told, the results were surprising. No, it was not a Rorschach test, but my macro photographs simply stimulated personal and collective stimuli, ideas, feelings and memories.

To tell the truth, this did not surprise me, and it still does not surprise me. All this, in fact, was and is at the origin of my research activity concerning everything that is part of the process of decomposition of matter and materials: paper, glues, natural corrosions, scratches and cracks, industrial stuff… These images strike, above all, above all myself. Therefore, it is understandable that they then also reach the hearts and minds of others. They are not paintings or digitally manipulated pictures. The are simply photos of the world around us. That world that often we do not perceive or observe. A world which can reveal something about what we feel inside…

Some interesting facts are demonstrated by the same workshops that, in some schools, are promoted bringing the kids to “play” with the images I made. It is a fun game, which pushes creativity and the desire to express oneself, telling oneself with words, talking about shapes and colors. Yes, pure chromotherapy.

It is a special game, which I like to propose, in this month of June 2020. Every day, here on my Blog, you will find an image, in the form of a card: 30 cards for a month. This is the last one: the 30th. I propose an instrument, a means. You can add the rest yourself in terms of thoughts, moods, questions, reactions, ideas, moods. So play your game. And may the creativity be with you!

5 CARDS FROM “THE GHOST BUS”

DSCN7562 (640x480) (640x480)Also the 30th and last card comes from The Ghost Bus project, promoted in Nottingham (UK) with ACT Group (founded by Marysia Zipser) and Bartons Garage: “A visual adventure in the Land of Robin Hood”. It is the picture-symbol of the whole project. I discovered the Ghost Bus in Beeston, at  Bartons huge garage of vintage buses and cars. I was really impressed by one of the oldest buses, a piece of history of English public transport: it’s a URR 865 vehicle AEC Reliance made in 1956! Simon Barton told me that a vehicle-sister of the   “ghost bus” was documented in 1959 on a wonderful and unmissable film telling a beautiful journey through Italy by a group of English ladies and gentlemen. So, I took lot of macro photos around and inside the “ghost bus”… So, we began this wonderful “visual adventure in the Land of Robin Hood“. The project includes events, short movies for public performances and video shows, a cards series (reproducing 16 artworks selected from the 109 ones that has been created) and a collection of canvases and much more.

SPECIAL PREVIEW OF J.CIDEL COLLECTION: MY MACRO PHOTOS ON BAGS AND WALLETS

Colors as a revolution in style and fashion! Series of my macro photographs (Lacer/actions project) – you well know them through my blogsite – were acquired exclusively by Jeannie and Johnny Cidel, of J.Cidel Collection (Florida, USA) and gave birth to an extraordinary collection made in Italy: different kinds of bags and wallets are produced in Rimini by Viale Parma. I’m really proud and glad for this collaboration. Above (in the video) a special preview of the J.Cidel Collection. Yes, this is a new season for fashion!

The bags are polyvinyl coated 100% cotton canvas with my artworks printed on them. There will be some leather accents in every bag where we see the solid color. Everything else is PVC coated 100% cotton canvas. They are being produced in Rimini by Viale Parma.

As people know, my artworks are not paintings or digitally manipulated pictures. The are simply photos of the world around us (torn and decomposed publicity posters, natural cracks and scratches on industrial materials and urban stuff).

MACRO PHOTO #25 / 30 CARDS FOR THE MIND: AS THOUGHTS THAT MIGRATE IN THE AIR

I propose an instrument, a means. You can add the rest yourself in terms of thoughts, moods, questions, reactions, ideas, moods. So play your game. And may the creativity be with you!
