NOTTINGHAM (UK): MY “LACER/ACTIONS” TAKING PART TO “2ND NETWORKING EVENT” OF ACT GROUP (MARCH 13) / A “CULTURES CROSSING” EXPERIMENT…

act 2014

Next Thursday March 13 is going to be a “wow!” of an ACT (Art-Culture-Tourisme) in Beeston, Nottingham, UK. It is also going to be a “cultural experiment” bringing all together to perform artists from different Nations of the world. I’m very glad to be part of this wonderful event, promoted by ACT, with my Lacer/actions Project about works of torn and decomposed publicity posters, natural and random “cracks” and urban signs.

The second event (Cultures Crossing) will be held at Anglo-Scotian Mills on Wollaton Road, Beeston, from18:00 to 20:30 (March 13). This time, there will be guest performers coming from different countries presenting wonderful music, dance, literature, arts etc. It is also a great opportunity to network with people from the business and creative domain. This event is free admission.

“CONTEMPLATIONS AND LACER/ACTIONS” PROJECT / A SPECIAL PAGE: SLIDESHOW, ALBUM, VIDEO AND A GREAT PORTRAIT (1631)

4

One of the 27 installations-artworks of “Contemplations and Lacer/actions” Project. This is the English translation of the original script by Thomas From Bergamo (1563-1631): “The Loving Soul, wounded in Love, loves in Every Times and Everywhere…” Work and Concept by Roberto Alborghetti – 2013

CONTEMPLATIONS AND LACER/ACTIONS: A SPECIAL PAGE ON THE PROJECT

*

“Contemplations and Lacer/actions” is a visual project which includes a virtual gallery, a video, an album and installations. It is based on 27 scripts by Thomas From Bergamo (or From Olera) who lived from 1563 to 1631 in Tyrol area (Austria and Italy). All the scripts were taken from the most important works of Thomas, as his masterpiece “Fuoco d’Amore”, “Fire of Love” (the first issue was printed in 1682 in Aufsburg, Germany).

Thomas was a peace ambassador and messenger between European Nations in troubled and turbulent times. He was an illiterate man – he was a shepherd! – but its open heart, mind and spirit suggested him to write really stunning poems, stories and thoughts.

While I was writing his biography – (“Thomas From Bergamo: A Fire of Love along European Streets”) published in Italy last June – I was really struck by his Scripts… So, the idea of this project. I think the visionary power of  Thomas Scripts fits so well with my works. As I like to say, my works are not paintings, and even graphic design created by computer, but absolutely realistic images, captured from reality, along the streets, during my research-survey on torn and decomposed publicity posters and about “signs” and “cracks” in urban environments…

Thomas From Bergamo Scripts were written along the streets, contemplating the World and its Beauties… My images comes from the streets as well as… This is the meeting point of this project. The Street, with its Lifes, Hopes, Colors and Moods.

About Thomas: I invite you to admire his great and touching portrait. It was painted in 1631 by artist Martin Theophile Polak (or Martin Teofilowicz). Polak was one the most popular Tyrolese painter between XVI and XVII Century. He also worked at Hapsburg Court. The archduke Leopold sent him to Innsbruck to portray the dying Thomas (May 3, 1631). I think Polak painted one of his masterpieces. He was so able to impress and to imprint on canvas the stately mildness and the inner light of a great man.

CONTEMPLATIONS AND LACER/ACTIONS: A SPECIAL PAGE ON THE PROJECT

IT’S RAINING OLYMPIC COLORS! DID SOMEONE SHATTER THE 5 CIRCLES? DON’T BOTHER ABOUT IT: IT’S JUST AN ARTPIECE FROM TORN POSTERS…

IT’S RAINING OLYMPIC COLORS! ROBERTO ALBORGHETTI LACER-ACTIONS FOR 2012 LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES

Blue, Black, Red, Yellow and Green: five colors representing our Continents. Five colors we find in the five circles of the historic Olympiad logo. The 2012 London Olympic Games suggested me to toy with my “Lacer/actions” artpieces, realistic and not manipulated images of torn and decomposed posters. In my collection  – more than 40.000 images – I found interesting and particular works, as the piece I show here…

There’re no circles and no official logo, but the 5 colors movement is so funny and amazing… Yes, it’s raining Olympic Games colors! Someone shattered the circles and the colors are now able to move everywhere, to fall and to go up… A metaphore about humanity profound hopes and desires of freedom?

ABOUT 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES

The 2012 Olympic Games will take place in a host of new venues as well as using existing and historic facilities. Many of the new facilities will be reused and the plans are part of the regeneration of Stratford and Lower Lea Valley in East London.

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games will be held in London from tomorrow, July 27, to August 12, followed by the 2012 Para Olympic Games from August 29 to September 9. At the opening Ceremony around 100.000 people will be working on the Games – including 3.000 staff, up to 70.000 volunteers and a large number of contractors. The London 2012 Olympic logo has created considerable controversy and the spiralling cost of the Games is likely to be an ongoing problem…

London has hosted the Olympic Games on other two past occasions, in 1908 and 1948. The 2012 Olympics will make London the first city to have hosted the modern Games of three Olimpiads.
