RETROSPECTIVE #3: ADVERTISING POSTERS, FIRES AND FLAMES (VIDEO, 2009)

“Fuochi / Fires” was also made exactly 10 years ago: in November, 2009. I created it through the Animoto platform, accepting the challenge of producing a video clip of thirty seconds of maximum duration. I took some of the macro photographic images of torn advertising posters and mixed them with a track : “Heartbeat” by Justin Raisen.  This is my third video clip for “Lacer/actions” project. The dominant color of these images is red. And the tears and decomposition of paper often take the form of tongues of fire. Advertising posters, fire and flames.

Anche “Fuochi” è stato realizzato 10 anni fa, nel novembre 2009. L’ho creato attraverso la piattaforma Animoto, accettando la sfida di produrre un videoclip di trenta secondi di durata massima. Ho preso alcune delle immagini fotografiche macro di manifesti pubblicitari strappati e li ho “mescolate” con il brano “Heartbeat” di Justin Raisen. Il colore dominante di queste immagini è il rosso. E gli strappi e la decomposizione della carta assumono spesso la forma delle lingue di fuoco.

 

 

RETROSPECTIVE #2: MIXED COLORS OF BEETHOVEN (VIDEO, 2009)

“Mixed colors of Beethoven” was also created exactly 10 years ago: in September 13, 2009. I created it through the Animoto platform, accepting the challenge of producing a video clip of thirty seconds of maximum duration. I took some of the macro photographic images of torn advertising posters and mixed them with an unmistakable music: the universally known “Allegro con brio” from Simphony No.5 by Ludwig Van Beethoven. This is my second video clip for “Lacer/actions” project and it is one of the most viewed on Animoto. It confirmed me that “visuals” always need the colors of the sound.

Ho preso alcune delle immagini fotografiche macro di manifesti pubblicitari strappati e li ho “mescolate” con una musica inconfondibile: l’Allegro con Brio dalla Quinta Sinfonia di Ludwig Van Beethoven. Questo è il mio secondo videoclip. Mi ha confermato che i (miei) “visuals” hanno sempre bisogno dei colori del suono.

IT’S NOT JUST LIFE THAT IS PINK… EVEN THE TORN ADVERTISING POSTERS!

It is not just life that is pink … To paraphrase the well-known French song (La vie en rose) it could be said that even the worn and torn advertising posters often reveal the pink color, as I gathered in this graphic presentation. After the advertisement has been torn and removed from the billboards, traces and marks of ink, glue and residuals of paper can be glimpsed on the surface. In my opinion, this is a unique spectacle. An open-air exhibition. Our eye can read and admire strange shapes and a sort of codes – like the numbers – that only the time and the chance can decipher.

Also in this photogallery I have gathered some of the images I took around a big outdoor billboard.  The pictures are part of LaceR/Actions”, my multidisciplinary project and research about the apparent chaos of ripped and decomposed publicity posters, natural cracks, crevices, scratches and urban and industrial signs and tokens (I’ve collected so far more than 120.000 photos…).

Transferred on canvases, reproduced on lithographic prints or textiles, re-built on collages or scanned in videoclips, the images of torn and disfigured posters and natural cracks, corrosions and scratches give new meanings and expressions to paper lacerations and matters decompositions. Non è solo la vita ad essere di colore rosa…Parafrasando la nota canzone francese (La vie en rose) si potrebbe dire che anche i manifesti pubblicitari consumati e strappati rivelano spesso il colore rosa, come ho raccolto in questa presentazione grafica. Dopo che la pubblicità è stata strappata e tolta dai tabelloni, si possono intravvedere, sulla superficie, tracce e segni di inchiostro, colla e residui di carta. A mio parere, tutto ciò costituisce uno spettacolo unico. Una mostra a cielo aperto. Il nostro occhio può leggere ed ammirare strane forme ed una sorta di codici che solo il caso e il fato possono decifrare. Penso che tutto ciò sia un linguaggio. E’ il codice espressivo della strada, che parla e comunica in un modo assolutamente sorprendente. Sì, sono convinto che questa sia vera e pura arte di strada, costruita in virtù di una forza che sfugge al nostro controllo. Sì, tutto molto suggestivo. Occorre essere subito pronti ad impressionare queste scene, parte del progetto “Lacer/azioni”…

Roberto Alborghetti observes and contemplates those objects that are caught in a state of abandonment as the extreme consequence of their being significant objects. Objects that have exhausted their life cycle. Scrap where the artist takes the extreme meaning of things. Because things are loved even when they have ceased their mere function as usables.

There is a tenderness for the things of the world that can only exist in those who want to read the meaning of being. A life that is awareness of the ruins of time, which has assumed in itself every oedipal character of temporality, where light breaks into the finitude of a world already lived.

Alborghetti interprets the “wall of time” well, to refer to the Jungerian work, the space occupied by things that fall, but in this decadence a sort of mysticism is grafted.
Accumulated residues of discontinued works, ragged posters that have exhausted their function, like a human being worn out at the end of his days. And these wrecks draw their life from a new look, from a light that removes them from their inexorable decline.

In this subtraction from decadence, every element lives a providential redemption from chaos, from the useless, and helps to better understand that Life itself is useless, like Art, because Life is eternal Presence.
