IT’S A VERY INDUSTRIAL PICTURE… SNOW, CLOUDS AND PEOPLE ALL SEEM TO DRIFT IN THE SAME DIRECTION

DREAMS & LACER/ACTIONS”: THERAPEUTIC HAIGA # 2 BY ~MEREDITH AND ROBERTO ALBORGHETTI

Faded faces stroll

     the walls of layered living.

    Yesterday softens.

*

I saw granite snow

     and touched the oneness.

     Ancient stories freeze.

*

Umbrella walkers

     dot the misty,morning streets.

     Tissue clouds bring snow.

This is the second composition created by fellow blogger, Meredith (healingminds@WordPress.com) for a four composition series titled “Dreams & Lacer/actions: Therapeutical Haiga”. Meredith – who lives in Lafayette, Indiana (USA) – shared a preview of my most recent images taken from torn posters and cities walls during my trips in the Netherlands and Italy. And, she began to create verses…

The second “Lacer/actions” art piece which inspired Meredith’s verses comes from a display I saw on a square at Como Lake (Italy). It is natural, and not manipulated or enhanced image.

Meredith wrote this note about the image: “This picture looked both very industrial and like a barren canyon in winter.  Both places may seem bleak but I see life.  Snow, clouds, and people all seem to drift in the same direction, whether moved by snow or racing, tissue clouds. I could not help but make a copy of this photo to run my fingers across as I listened to the whispered tales of mottled surfaces.”

I thank Meredith for this collaboration which is also a particular experimentation based on colors, images, words, thoughts, emotions and sensorial perception.

ABOUT MEREDITH

Meredith (www.healingminds.wordpress.com) writes from a rich text based in theater, art, and design training. Also rooted from the soil of personal experience, Meredith writes about mental health and its challenges; her value of developing creative pursuits as part of the equation for living a satisfying life in the face of mental illness and recovery include yoga, dance, writing, and photography.

Meredith’s professional background began in directing and choreography.  Her education in dance and theater lent equal weight to creating movement and learning projects for school children, grades K thru 12, and mentoring independent theater projects for high school students. When mental illness changed the landscape of her life, Meredith returned to school and redirected her passions toward quieter pursuits in architectural design.  Most recently, her love for writing and well-being generate roomy, new ideas about beauty and life, and she writes about mindful living from a deeper understanding.

Dandelion winds

    Swirl April blossoms wildly.

    Tangos in the night.

*

Space drips, light bends gold.

     Lavender boughs lift lightly.

     Birth swirls around me.

*

Morning lamplight glows.

    Shadow curtains lace the glass.

    Drip dot April blooms.

These beautiful and evocative verses created by fellow blogger Meredith – healingminds@WordPress.com – begin a four compositions series titled “Dreams & Lacer/actions: Therapeutical Haiga. This collaborative project, born from the web, delivered in this post, also celebrates my One Year Anniversary at WordPress: I began this blog exactly one year ago on May 9, 2011.

Meredith – who lives in Lafayette, Indiana (Usa) – shared a preview about my most recent images I took from torn posters and cities walls during my trips in Netherlands and Italy. And she began to create verses…

Meredith wrote this note about this creative experience: “I sit and sit with words, slips of paper, and dreams. Several thoughts came together on this picture, so far. I see a dancer, the dazzle of her dress made brilliant by a stage light.  Her lavender skirting and stage dust shake the brilliance of movement in all directions. Also, the soft, vibrant gold reminds me of Gustav Klimt. It’s like a view from beyond a pane of glass, spotted with raindrops. The warm glow of lamplight in early morning.  A rumpled quilt of lilac blooms splatter lavender shimmers in the early light of day. These are some of my thoughts, so far… These photos bring dreams!”

The first “Lacer/actions” art piece which inspired Meredith’s verses comes from an Amsterdam street. It’s a realistic, natural and not manipulated or enhanced image. My eyes found it near a door where someone probably (and carelessly) left paint drops…

Now that spontaneous and casual scene has become a visual art piece suggesting beautiful and fascinating verses: I thank  Meredith for this collaboration which is also a particular experimentation based on colors, images, words, thoughts, emotions and sensorial perception. Yes, pictures for healingminds…

IT’ S A “GLORIOUS MORNING” WHEN “SPRING ARRIVES” : MY ARTWORKS PHOTO GALLERY

© Roberto Alborghetti

On kind request, I’m glad to dedicate this post to “Lacer/actions” artworks I used to create GLORIOUS MORNING CLIP with the beautiful piano solo by Canadian composer and pianist Gene Emerson. When I heard her “Glorious Morning” composition I immediately thought to some of my recent artworks (images of torn poster and urban signs). I think these artworks try to interpret the sense of Gene’s piano solo inspired by a Rumi‘s ode.

Gene says : “Glorious Morning is really an ode to a beautiful, warm and sunny morning at the beginning of Spring, – after long cold winter – when the world is changing, the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. Such a great change in nature has inspired me to compose this piece. Also, I must say, I have found Rumi’s lovely poem ‘Spring Arrives’ is very close to the spirit of this piece. His poem is so much full of optimism. He throws away all dogmas, religious fanaticism and pessimism. His free spirited vision of love and passion for life is so overwhelming. Although the poem is 800 years old, but Rumi’s description of flowers and trees would never become old and it is very relevant for our Spring in 2012…”

I want to thank all the people who appreciated the videoclip throughout the web!

“GLORIOUS MORNING”: RUMI’S POEM INSPIRED A GREAT PIANO SOLO BY GENE EMERSON IN A CLIP WITH ROBERTO ALBORGHETTI ‘S ART

Music is colour, image, movement, poetry… and a GLORIOUS MORNING too! This is the title of a great original piano solo by Gene Emerson, from Canada. Gene is a talented composer and pianist. I was really amazed and fascinated by her music. When I heard her “Glorious Morning” I immediately thought to some of my “Lacer/actions” artworks.

And the idea to collaborate with Gene for a clip became stronger when I read her words about the meaning she gave to her beautiful piano composition.

Gene says : “Glorious Morning is really an ode to a beautiful, warm and sunny morning at the beginning of Spring, – after long cold winter – when the world is changing, the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. Such a great change in nature has inspired me to compose this piece. Also, I must say, I have found Rumi‘s lovely poem ‘Spring Arrives’ is very close to the spirit of this piece.

So we decided to create a videoclip, trying to mix Gene music and my artworks (images of torn posters and urban signs). I selected nine pics that recall me in some ways the  wonderful melody and the surprising Gene Emerson’s  performance. So, enjoy this video. Great music and colors for a dreamin’ and relaxing moment…

IS IT A TEARDROP? OR A PEARL OF SUN? OR A DEW-DROP? : AN “HAIGA” FOR EASTER

And then I’ll tell them

to guess if it’s a teardrop

or a pearl of sun

or a dew-drop…”

E poi gli dirò di indovinare

se sia una lacrima

o una perla di sole

o una goccia di rugiada…”

A special Haiga to wish a very Happy Easter… The words are from a beautiful poem (“For Easter Morning” ) by a great Italian poet, David Maria Turoldo (1916-1992). Artwork comes from my “Spring Wings” Lacer/actions series: it’s not a painting; it is a realistic pictures, as the other 35.000 images I have created so far for my Lacer/actions project about torn posters and urban signs.
