The narrative of “The Ghost Bus” is compelling. An Italian artist encounters an old, decaying bus in the middle of England. He photographs details of its surface and returns to show, in the garage where it is kept, a video artwork made from his singular documentation.

I was one of an intrigued and fascinated audience who enjoyed an array and succession of vibrant images. We could also reflect on the inherent wonders of the mundane, meaning it is not mundane at all.

Afterwards, and behind the screen, was “The Ghost Bus” itself. Along with others, I approached it almost as if it was a holy relic. Roberto Alborghetti’s vision is one of transformation: what was dying had been given a new and spectacular life.

I’ve posted a few “snaps” on my Facebook artist’s page. Here’s the link:

This picture (reproduced on a pictorial canvas ) is not from a ripped and decomposed publicity poster. It’s a magnification of cracks

I saw on a flank of a railway carriage.

The canvas was recently displayed at Roberto Alborghetti Show (“Colors of an Apocalypse: An Intrigue for the Eyes and Mind from the Decomposed Publicity Posters”) in the  enchanting  Aldobrandesca Fortress (XIII Century) in Tuscany (Piancastagnaio, Siena, Italy) from October 6, 2012, to January 15, 2013.

Roberto Alborghetti ‘s LaceR/Actions is a multidisciplinary project and research about the apparent chaos of ripped and decomposed posters and urban/street signs.

Transferred on canvas, reproduced on lithographic prints or textiles (as pure silk), re-built on collages or scanned in videoclips, the details of torn and decomposed posters give new life to paper lacerations and matter decomposition, as you may see in this “postcard” reproducing one of the 40.000 images captured by Roberto Alborghetti during his research all around the world.

NEW VIDEO: “FALLING SNOW”, THE ETHEREAL SOUNDSCAPES OF FLUTE NINJA (笛忍者) + 21 R.A. ARTWORKS

***

The relaxing and mysterious music created by Flute Ninja (笛忍者) – composer, artist and musician – meets my “Lacer/Actions” works in a videoclip titled “Falling Snow”. The clip presents an original Flute Ninja (笛忍者) composition accompanied by an image series from my collection of pics from torn and decomposed publicity posters and urban tokens. The 21 works have white and green as prevailing colors, suggesting a sort of snow scenes from a winter garden… All the images come from a unique ripped poster that I saw some months ago along a street in Milan (Italy).

I’m very glad about this collaboration borned and created in distance thanks to the web: Flute Ninja (笛忍者) lives in Alabama (USA), he is composer, poet, shakuahachi player, martial artist (he enjoys drawing and painting nature and landscapes; his inspiration came from Bob Ross). Through  his YouTube channel NinjutsuLives, he spreads his passion for Japanese music and instruments as shakuahachi.

In “Falling Snow” composition (lenght: 3 minutes and 59 seconds). Flute Ninja (笛忍者) plays shinobue, a transverse Japanese bamboo flute which creates ethereal soundscapes. So welcome to this sensorial experience for ears, eyes, heart and mind… An invitation to stop for 4 minutes and go slowly…

“VISUALS FOR CHOPIN”: LACER/ACTIONS WORKS GO WITH “REVOLUTIONARY ETUDE” BY PIANIST SOFIYA URYVAYEVA

*

Sofiya Uryvayeva is a talented pianist. We met on our own YouTube channels. I was struck by her music and by her power to do magics with the piano. And she was fascinated by my Lacer/actions artworks (images of torn and decomposed publicity posters and urban signs).

This clip mixes Sofiya music and my artworks. From her YouTube channel I choose an extraordinary track that Sofiya recorded live in June 11, 2011: “Chopin Revolutionary Etude.
